Awesome Video

I came across this video a little while ago and I was just remembering how awesome it is. Normally skydiving looks like a terrifying experience. Hurtling toward earth at a speed, which will surely kill, has never really seemed like something I want to do. This video, though, makes falling really seem like flying or just falling with style. Along with the slow-mo falling, the music adds a really serene touch to skydiving. Maybe someday I will work up the courage to try this, so long it is in slow-mo and there is violin music to accompany on my fall.

Awesome Eats

For those of you who have never tried a gyro, it is time to get in touch with your Greek side. A gyro is a type of sandwhich filled with lamb, onions, and tomatoes, all wrapped up in a delicious pita. The one I am eating at the moment I got from a place in Salt Lake called Greek Souvlaki and it is among the best that I have had. A little while ago I tried the gryo at The Pita Pit in Provo and was not impressed. To sum it up, if you want to try something new and awesome, try a gryo, but get it from a authentic Greek restaurant.

Awesome YouTuber

The first awesome thing that has inspired me to be more creative is a YouTuber by the name of devinsupertramp. I don't recall how I came across his videos, but I sat, literally, in awe after watching the video above. Devin did a great job of capturing the beauty of the islands and then added an amazing soundtrack by Stephen J. Anderson. This video is not the only great video, Devin has done videos that show jumping bikes into a pond, fire knife dancers, and even water jet-packs. I would encourage anyone to check his videos if you have a moment. Seeing the world through his eyes is simply awesome.

Defining Awesome

awe·some/ˈôsəm/Adjective

1. Extremely impressive or daunting; inspiring great admiration, apprehension, or fear.

2. Extremely good; excellent.

I feel that awesome really get thrown around a bit to much in our day to day jargon e.g. "this ham sandwich is awesome" or "man that lecture on photosynthesis was awesome". In this blog I want to post things that I find truly awesome. There are many things that fall into the definition of awesome: These things may make me laugh, things that make me stop and stare for a bit, or even things that put a little lump in my throat (not the same as crying; after all, I am a man).

I know that you are probably thinking, "Hey Eric, isn't awesomeness subjective?" To that I would respond "It sure is, person who may or may not know what subjective is. I want to show what puts me in awe and see what everyone else thinks". So enjoy, or don't it is really up to you to decide if the blog is awesome or not.
